LinkedIn isn’t known for providing pristine lists. No matter your subscription level, LinkedIn has the tendency to import contacts from outside your search criteria into your list. Luckily, using We-Connect, you can filter your lists by job title – only reaching the titles that fit your target audience.

In this article, we’ll show you where to find the feature and walk through an example scenario.

Step 1: Import a list & set up your campaign.

Let’s say we’re targeting account executives in Boston who work in the software industry.

We’ll start this campaign just like how we’ll start any campaign: by completing a search, importing contacts into We-Connect, and creating the campaign sequence.

Step 2: Turn on job title matching.

Once you’ve finished building the campaign sequence, it’s time to customize your settings. This is where you’ll find the job title matching feature (right below the list of advanced filters).

To use job title matching, toggle on “send only if the Job Title matches.” Once activated, a text box will appear where you can enter the job titles you want to target.

Step 3: Enter the job titles you want to target.

In the text box provided, enter the job titles you want your We-Connect campaign to reach. For our example, we’ll add two job titles – account executive and senior account executive. Don’t forget to separate the job titles you enter with a comma or line break.

Pro tip: Rather than targeting a single job title, enter a few relevant ones. Many companies use different variations of job titles, even if the roles are the same.
