In this article, you’ll learn how to warm up your LinkedIn account and set global action limits for outreach campaigns on We-Connect.
Account warm-up is an essential part of outreach. Consider email marketing, for example. With email automation, most providers warm up an account by slowly increasing the number of emails it can send over time.
Our account warm-up does the same thing for your LinkedIn account – allowing you to customize how quickly you scale and how action limits perform after warm-up.
Why should you warm-up your LinkedIn account?
Warming-up your LinkedIn account protects you from getting thrown into LinkedIn jail.
The number one reason LinkedIn issues a temporary or permanent restriction is that an account performs too many actions and surpasses action limits. While we have specific usage guidelines for We-Connect, if you immediately start running campaigns at those numbers, you can get yourself into trouble.
We recommend that anyone using LinkedIn automation for the first time warm up their account. Below, we’ll show you how to customize your warm-up settings.
How to warm-up your LinkedIn account
You can find the warm-up settings in the We-Connect settings menu.
Step 1: Click ‘LinkedIn Settings’ under the ‘Channel Settings’ section of the settings menu.
Note: You need to have an active campaign running in order to warm up your account successfully.
Step 2: Turn on ‘Account Warm-up.’
By default, account warm-up is turned off. To turn it on, click the switch.
Step 3: Define account warm-up settings.
There are five things to think about when setting up account warm-up:
The start limit is the initial number of actions you want to take prior to warming-up.
The end limit is the final number of actions you want to take after your account has warmed-up.
Increase by refers to the number of actions you want to increase your limit by.
The step interval is how often the action limit will increase (every day, every 3 days, 5 days, etc…).
Randomize after completion will randomize your final action limit within five actions (for example, if your limit is 20, We-Connect would take anywhere between 15 and 25 actions per day).
Step 4: Save your warm-up settings.
We-Connect will automatically adjust the action limits from your campaigns to the warm-up settings.
Once an account has successfully warmed-up, the action limit will remain at the specified end limit. To customize these limits further, we’ll now cover global action limits.
How to set global limits on automated LinkedIn activity
Once an account has warmed up (or if you opted to skip the warm-up), you can set more detailed limits for individual action types. While it might sound complex, we’ve made the process straightforward.
Step 1: Navigate to ‘LinkedIn Settings’ in the ‘Channels Settings’ section of the settings menu.
This is the same location where you can turn on/off account warm-up.
Step 2: Turn off ‘Account Warm-Up’ if it is currently on.
You cannot define global action limits if you’re currently warming up a LinkedIn account. Once turned off, you can view the global limit settings from the same page.
Step 3: Define a global limit for each automated action.
By default, each limit is set to 40% of its full potential (for example, if the total invite limit is 100, the default will be 40). However, you can tailor these limits to your business goals, prioritizing the actions that are most important to you.
For example, if I’m marketing an event, I might increase my ‘Event invite limit’ and decrease actions across my other campaigns.
In total, We-Connect can take 150 LinkedIn actions per day, excluding messaging. We-Connect can send 200 LinkedIn messages per day.
Note: Your global limits will not change the daily action limit you’ve set when building a campaign. These limits work to manage total actions across multiple active campaigns.
Step 4: Review and save your global limits.
You can change these limits at any time from the LinkedIn Settings menu.
