Usage Guidelines: How To Safely Automate LinkedIn Outreach

Learn how to safely automate LinkedIn activity while adhering to LinkedIn best practices.

Written by Alex

LinkedIn has very specific limits on the number of messages, connection requests, and any activity you perform. Disregarding these guidelines can cause LinkedIn to enforce a restriction on your account. In this article, we’ll walk you through LinkedIn’s limits and how to use We-Connect with that in mind.

LinkedIn limits can be intimidating, but they shouldn’t be. While all account subscriptions (LinkedIn Premium vs. Sales Navigator) have different caps, they’re less restrictive when using We-Connect.

These are We-Connect's recommended weekly limits. They are intentionally set below LinkedIn's platform limits to keep your account safe. To understand how LinkedIn itself treats accounts and limits, see LinkedIn Activity Limits: What You Need to Know.

Notes:

Invite connection

100 invites/week

Paid accounts (LinkedIn Premium, Sales Navigator, Recruiter): 200 invites/week. Established accounts with a high acceptance rate and a strong SSI score can safely go up to 140/week. For accounts with less than 250 connections, use the account warmup settings to send 15 connections per day

Message 1st-degree connection

500 messages/week

Paid accounts: 700 messages/week. Applies across all campaigns

Free InMails to open profiles

250 InMails/week

Free InMails also count toward your weekly message limit

Endorse skill

Paid accounts: 300 likes/week

Invite 1st-degree connections to an event

100 invites/week

Paid accounts: 250 invites/week

Withdraw invites

140 withdrawals/week

Paid accounts: 200 withdrawals/week

Invite connections to follow a company page

30 invites/month to your employer's Page, 50 invites/month to other Pages

Company Page admins share a pool of 50 invitation credits per month. Credits are returned when an invitation is accepted

Group messaging

15 messages/month

Group admins can send up to 50 messages/day to group members

AI agents also use LinkedIn actions. When a campaign includes the lead scoring agent, each contact is scored by viewing their LinkedIn profile. These views count toward your daily action limit, and We-Connect spreads them across the day together with your invites and messages to keep your account within safe activity levels.

Note: Sending too many connection requests in a short period of time is the number one reason accounts get restricted on LinkedIn.

How To Control Action Limits in We-Connect?

Before launching your first campaign, you’ll need to set an action limit for that campaign. Your ‘action limit’ refers to the number of automated actions We-Connect takes on your behalf each day.

You can also control action limits from the global limits menu within the 'LinkedIn Settings' page of the settings menu.

For example, if your action limit is set to 20, We-Connect will automate 20 total actions across your campaign. You can update your action limit from the campaign manager.

Step 1: Edit or add a new campaign.

You can set action limits when building a new campaign or editing a previously created campaign. For the example below, we’ll edit the limit of an existing campaign.

Step 2: Navigate to the ‘Settings’ tab in the campaign manager.

Once you start editing a campaign, you’ll be able to adjust the contacts, sequence, and settings. The action limit can be changed from the ‘Settings’ tab.

Step 3: Adjust your action limit to your liking and save.

We-Connect gives you the power to set your action limit however you like. This limit cover the entire campaign, meaning if the limit is set to 25, We-Connect may send 15 connection requests and visit 10 profiles.

To enhance safety and emulate human behavior, turn on Randomize Daily Actions.

How Does We-Connect Protect Your Account?

We-Connect keeps your account safe in a few unique ways:

  • Smart activity monitoring. We-Connect continuously monitors the health of your connected LinkedIn account. If LinkedIn ever limits your account's activity, we pause your campaigns right away so no further actions are sent, and notify you by email and in We-Connect. Campaigns resume automatically after one week, or you can turn them back on sooner from the campaign manager.

  • Account warmup. Account warmup gradually builds up your activity the way a real person would. It increases the delay between invites, randomizes your actions, and keeps invites to no more than 15 per day while your account builds trust.

  • Automatic invite cleanup. A large backlog of pending invites is one of the signals LinkedIn watches. You can automate or bulk withdraw invites to keep your pending connections low and your account in good standing.
