Custom Exclusion Dates

How to block campaign activity on specific dates using custom exclusions, including how to set exclusions to repeat every year.

Written by Gary Egan

Custom Exclusion Dates let you block all campaign activity on specific dates, regardless of what your active schedules say. Any date added as a custom exclusion will pause all running campaigns for that entire day.

Use custom exclusions for dates like public holidays, company shutdowns, team off-sites, or any day you don't want outreach going out.

How to add a custom exclusion

  1. Go to Settings and select Schedules from the left menu.

  2. Scroll down to the Custom Exclusions section.

  3. Click + Add exclusions.

  4. The Add custom exclusion modal opens. Your default timezone is shown at the top. All exclusions apply based on this timezone.

  5. Click on one or more dates in the calendar to select them. Selected dates are highlighted in purple.

  6. Your selected dates appear as tags below the calendar. Click the ร— on any tag to remove a date.

  7. Choose whether to repeat the exclusion (see below).

8. Click Save.

Once saved, your excluded dates appear in the Custom Exclusions section with the timezone they apply to.

Repeat every year

When adding exclusion dates, you can choose whether each date should repeat annually or apply only to the current year.

Repeat every year: off (default) The exclusion applies only in the current year. For example, if you add June 9, 2026, campaigns will pause on that date in 2026 only.

Repeat every year: on The exclusion recurs on the same date every year going forward. The date is shown without a year (for example, Jun 09) to indicate it is an ongoing annual exclusion. Use this for recurring holidays or fixed company events.

To enable it, check the Repeat every year checkbox before saving. You can toggle this on or off for any set of dates before you save.

Managing existing exclusions

To view or edit your saved exclusions, click Manage exclusions in the Custom Exclusions section. From there you can add new dates or remove existing ones.

Things to know

  • Custom exclusions apply across all your schedules. There is no way to apply an exclusion to one schedule only.

  • Exclusions are based on your default timezone, shown in the modal when you add them.

  • Campaigns that fall within their active hours on an excluded date will still be paused for that full day.
