In this article, you will find step-by-step instructions on how to generate Gmail app password from your Gsuite account.
Login to your Gmail inbox, click on your account icon and select Manage your Google account link, check the image below:
You will be redirected to your Google account page and once you are on that page, click on the Security tab in the left-hand side menu. And then click open 2-Step Verification.
Please note: You cannot generate Google app password unless you setup your 2-Step Verification, so please go ahead and set it up.
Once the 2-Step Verification is enabled, you will find the App passwords section on the same page when you scroll down. Please check the image below for your reference:
Click open the App passwords link and then select the app and device you want to generate the app password for. Please select Mail from the Select app dropdown and select Other (custom name) from the Select device dropdown. Please check the images below for your reference:
Once you do that, you will see an option to enter a custom name for the app; here, you can simply input WC App or a name you prefer to identify the app. Please check the image below.
Once done, hit the Create button and your app password will be generated instantly. Please check the image below:
Please copy the Google app password and store it safely. You can use the same credentials when setting up your Gsuite / Gmail email account.
