Send campaigns from multiple email addresses while managing everything from a single Gmail account.
What are Gmail Aliases?
Gmail aliases are alternative email addresses linked to your main Gmail account. They allow you to send emails from different addresses while keeping all replies in one inbox.
Example:
If your main email is [email protected], you can create and use:
Why use aliases?
Separate different brands or products
Test different sender identities
Organize campaigns by purpose or audience
Maintain professional personas for different roles
Important: All aliases share your main Gmail account's sending limits and deliverability reputation.

Important Limitations
Sending Volume
Aliases do NOT increase your sending limits.
All emails sent through aliases count toward your main Gmail account's daily quota of 100 emails per day (Gmail's standard limit with We-Connect).
To increase your sending capacity, you need to connect additional Gmail accounts, not create more aliases.
Deliverability
All aliases use your main Gmail account's:
Sending reputation
Spam score
Authentication records (SPF, DKIM)
Poor sending practices on one alias affect all aliases and your main account.
Tracking Replies to Aliases
To ensure We-Connect properly tracks replies sent to your aliases:
Enable IMAP
IMAP must be enabled on your Gmail account for We-Connect to read incoming messages.
In Gmail, go to Settings β See all settings
Select the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab
Enable IMAP access
Save changes
Set Up Email Forwarding (Recommended)
Forward emails from your alias to your main Gmail inbox to centralize reply tracking:
In Gmail settings, go to the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab
Click Add a forwarding address
Enter your main Gmail address
Verify the forwarding setup
Create a filter to automatically forward alias emails
This ensures all replies are tracked correctly in We-Connect regardless of which alias received them.
Troubleshooting
Aliases Not Appearing in We-Connect
Possible causes:
Alias not verified in Gmail
Gmail sync delay
Connection issue with We-Connect
Solutions:
Verify the alias is properly set up in Gmail under Accounts β Send mail as
Confirm you checked "Treat as an alias" during setup
Wait 5-10 minutes for Gmail to sync
Click Refresh in We-Connect's alias settings
If still not visible, disconnect and reconnect your Gmail account in We-Connect
Replies Not Being Tracked
Check these settings:
IMAP is enabled in Gmail
Email forwarding is configured correctly
Your Gmail account is still connected in We-Connect
The alias was verified in Gmail
If issues persist, reconnect your Gmail account in We-Connect to refresh the connection.
Can't Verify Alias in Gmail
You must have access to the alias email address to receive and confirm Gmail's verification email. If you can't access the alias mailbox, you cannot use it as a Gmail alias.
Best Practices
Choose aliases strategically
Create aliases that clearly indicate their purpose:
sales@yourcompany.com - For sales outreach campaigns
partnerships@yourcompany.com - For partnership proposals
hello@yourcompany.com - For general introductions
team@yourcompany.com - For team-based outreach
Monitor deliverability across all aliases
Track open rates and spam complaints for each alias. Issues with one alias can affect your main account.
Keep your main account healthy
Your entire alias setup depends on your main Gmail account's reputation. Follow email best practices for all sending.
Don't over-rely on aliases for volume
Remember that aliases don't increase sending limits. Plan your campaign volume accordingly.
Test before launching
Send test emails from each alias and verify they arrive correctly and replies are tracked properly.
FAQ
How many aliases can I create?
Gmail doesn't have a strict limit on aliases, but we recommend keeping it manageable (5-10) for easier organization.
Do aliases help with deliverability?
No. All aliases share your main account's reputation. Poor practices on one alias hurt all of them.
Can I use aliases with automated campaigns?
Yes. Once set up, aliases work seamlessly with all We-Connect campaign types.
Will my recipients see my main email address?
No. Recipients only see the alias address you selected for that campaign.
Can I change which alias a campaign uses after launching?
This depends on campaign settings. Check with We-Connect support for specific scenarios.
What happens if I delete an alias in Gmail?
It will stop working in We-Connect immediately. Active campaigns using that alias will fail to send.
Can I use Google Workspace aliases?
Yes, the same process works for Google Workspace accounts. Set up aliases in your Google Admin console, then use them in We-Connect.
